So your new to the DIrectory scene or you are looking to make a change to another script. We've all been there at some point...wondering this same question.

i chose phpld everytime

i`ve tried indexu.phplynx and a couple of others

but they dont offer the features and mods and available templates as phpld

I am quite impressed with IndexU, very easy to customize.

I personally use the phplynx script, its packed full of features, and its free.

Although its new and not many templates are available at present, although some are in production, it is a good script and the default template is quite good.

Hey TC,

I would personally recommend you using the Lynx script, it has so many features and with a very fast support team, I think the Lynx is the best directory script there, It's the truth, the facts.

@hobsdv, php LD's paid version features are all available on the php lynx directory script (FREE VERSION), the paid version has a very strong search system, the ability to search by place, name and service. There aren't even mods neccessary, do you want to go out there and throw another 300-400$ to get a directory with good features, be my guest. I'd recommend you to check the Php Lynx script, as I do not think you've tried it.


As for templates, take a look at the following template, which is going to be released very soon, this will be available for the free version, click here.

Don't agree with you there hobsdv, both wsnLinks and phpLynx have way more features than phpld even out of the box and even with all the mods they still have more, phpLd. They do have a load of templates (too many imho) but thats about it.

How much does phpLynx cost? I've used phpLD for so long that it feels like the de facto standard for me. If the price is affordable I will consider it for one of my directories.
