Yes, you are wrong on this. Much larger sites were hit, such as some leading blogs, newspaper sites, and other sites that were involved with selling text link ads (hundreds of sites). And of the directories that were hit, link bidding directories were hit the worst, and of the link bidding directories that were hit, I haven't found any that were running phpLD. There were certainly some phpLD directories (so non-bidding) that were hit by the penalty, but it was the ones that were buying and selling links, often involved with text link ads (or similar) or bidding directories.
Now that phpLD has a bidding model available (which by the way represents a VERY small part of our sales), could these be hit in the next update? Quite possibly they could. But fortunately we know much more about what brings about penalization, and as I said before, I have discussed this with many phpLD users, and warned them about what could happen, as well as opened up new options (expiration, depreciation), in hopes the model will improve (such as similar to what Yahoo does now).
