Gnu phpLD doesn't look to bad by the development on Sourceforge (although it is still Beta). Does anyone have any "*Beware*" advice, before I get into it too much. Hobby or not, nobody likes wasting time, or opening a security hole!

It's not on sourceforge, at least their search never showed it?
SourceForge.net: Software Search
As a free script its okay but don't think you'll get a bug free ride. No comment on the security aspect, my only advice is to not think it won't cost you even if they tell you it won't. Too many duplicates of the script are also the problem as well so make your directories niche. There's lots of scripts with more features including the one I promote but it would always be your call so good luck.
