[Mod] Advanced Search for phpLD
This great new mod which will be included in future version of phpLD adds an advanced search to your directory, allowing for a more customized search of links, categories and articles. You can choose to sort the results by Relevancy, Title, Hits or Category, and can limit your search to certain categories.

Is there a possibility of a search of categories when doing submission? It's sometimes very difficult to scroll for the correct category in the huge mess.

Actually, by default, searches already bring up categories. For example, this search:
Directory- Search Results It brings up results for categories, featured links, links and articles.

Oh, I meant during submission.
Let's say if I want to submit a site to a directory, I need to scroll and scroll looking for a suitable category. Doing a search could help.
