hi everyone, never realized this forum had been re-opened. Just to intro myself to everyone, I'm soon to be the new admin for phpLynx which is going opensource. If anyone needs to ask questions then I'll do what I can to answer. (Any techy questions should be directed to Gary over at the phpLynx forum) as he doesn't seem to be able to log in here anymore.

Interesting move. Hope it goes well. Why the change in direction? There appears to be some ill feeling and concerns with the way things were. What went wrong? What has changed?

Thanks, no other reason than I'm taking over the phpLynx ship and want to go in this direction. The only ill feeling was from the way the script was coded by rival scripts and people who couldn't steal the code and try and sell it on as thiers. Its been internationally copyrighted so I didn't see any reason why it shouldn't be released to developers.

Not sure if I follow you. How do you see it working? Open source development is tricky to manage at the best of times. How will licencing work?

How did phplynx start? As I understand it, it grew out of Cant u Find. Who was involved? Who still is involved? I have one directory I wanted to try out but have not had the time to unwrap it yet.
