MSN.com Backlink Checking Strategies

MSN results are right now powered by yahoo, so most of the command used in yahoo will imply for MSN too,

The 2 basic commands for backlink checking in MSN is link: and linkdomain:

Link: will display all links that MSN search knows for a particular page,

Linkdomain: will display all links that MSN search knows for a particular domain,

Next important search engine we will see is Alltheweb.com, Alltheweb was a powerful search engine before it was aquired by yahoo, Now that it is owned by yahoo the results in alltheweb.com is powered by yahoo, The important backlink command for alltheweb.com is

Link:w*w.anyurl.com


The above command will display all links to that particular page.

Where did you get this information from?

I have many pages listed in Yahoo and Google, but not one in MSN. I'm trying to figure out why MSN is so laggy or if there is a legit problem with my site.

MSN's Live search is supposed to be releasing a webmaster's area this fall. Something similar to Google's Webmaster tools...

I did not know MSN is using Yahoo for backlinking.. If that is the case why the link back numbers are not same... At least it was the case a couple months ago..
