Allowed sites now an option in AdSense
Allowed sites now an option in AdSense
By Jenstar

Quote:
Publishers now have a new tab in the AdSense account called "Allowed Sites"... Under AdSense Setup tab, click the "Allowed Sites" link.
Google is acknowledging that this is a concern for publishers. From their help center:
Quote:
We've added the Allowed Sites feature because we've learned that some AdSense publishers are concerned about potentially malicious behavior from others on the web, such as stealing their ad code and placing it on an inappropriate site. By offering this feature, we allow AdSense publishers more control over which sites or URLs can have their AdSense code.
The two selections in the account are "Allow any site to show ads for my account" or "Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account". Then you get the option of adding domains or subdomains to your approve list.
|
If you belong to any revenue sharing forums or blogs, be sure to include those URLs in the allowed list. But do be aware that your ads will no longer show on cached copy pages or archive.org unless you add those URLs as well (including all the Google cache IP addresses).

Well its good to know their "acknowledging" the fact but from the looks of it i probably wont be pushing Adsense period.
Lots of bad things being said about it lately. Example: yesterday i received a confirmation email for a submission and lets just say they had nothing good to say about Adsense period. (Of course they did have to other sources to promote with their AFF code.. )
But hey, what do i know ... never actually tried them myself.

I and a lot of other people make a steady if not enormous income from AdSense and I've never had a problem with them. I am using this new feature now as another "firewall" against click fraud launched by someone else.
Of course, you need to conform to the AdSense TOS which excludes certain types of sites (e.g., "adult" sites, online drug stores) and you need to apply using a site that has reasonable traffic - once accepted, you can use the same acccount and code on other sites as long as they don't violate the TOS.

When you say enormous would it be safe to say 4 figures and up (per month) ... or a bit smaller?
Curious cause if its that good i may have to alter my thinking later.

Well, of course it depends on the type of site and the type of traffic.
A forum probably isn't going to make four figures from AdSense - unless it's very very popular.
Realistically, most directories won't get sufficient traffic to make that kind of money either.
On the other hand, your AdSense publishing account isn't linked to a specific site so if you have several sites with moderate traffic you can potentially make a steady income. Again, it depends on the type of site, the type of visitors it attracts, and the number of unique visitors it attracts.
I certainly don't make 4 figures from AdSense and I doubt that I ever will. On the other hand, I do make enough from AdSense to cover my hosting costs (VPS hosting) and a bit more and it's basically effortless income. All I have to do is paste a bit of code into my webpages and Google does the rest.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Shoemoney but he runs a LOT of sites and his combined income from AdSense is way more than 4 figures. On one of his blogs, he posted a photo a while back of himself holding an AdSense check that was at least 6 figures - and that was for one month. But Shoemoney is a marketing genius with a lot of energy and clearly not very many people are going to be able to match his AdSense income.

No, not Photoshop. Shoemoney is the "real deal", to steal a phrase from The Donald.

I think even Donald Trump would have a hard time laying claim to this domain or to the word "trump".
Now if he'd called it DonaldArticles.com or DonaldTrumpArticles.com, he'd be at greater risk.

LOL @ the Donald!
But i thought the "real deal" came from that well known retired boxer "The Real Deal Holyfield" .........

You may be right. I know that The Donald uses the phrase a lot in his radio spots.

It's something to appreciate that Google constantly adds new features to their services. Not only adsense but also gmail, webmaster tools - the one I most frequently use
