On your word cloud site the price is $2 if I choose one of your existing words.

If I can't find related word and have to suggest my own - there is an extra $5...

So the price for the listing with my own tag is actually $7, not $2.

It's those "fine print" details that will get ya every time.

Many people go for higher PR as they hope their PR will go up also, for me I opt for a well promoted one even if PR 0. Bu i admit it is a hard job to know and source a well promotted directory. What do u think?

That's the catch at the moment, any well promoed directory seems have to been hammered by the latest PR move.

PR shouldn't come into it. There is no ways you want to start selling either PR or links. You should rather be charging to review the sites submitted to you but the question you must ask yourself is how much is a client going to be prepared to pay for a review in order to get their site listed. They in turn should be asking how long your directory is going to last and this is where we usually end up with a disconnect.

Why did you set up the directory? If you don't have any purpose other than to sell links you are in trouble.

I personally think it depends on the wuality of the directory, and its incoming links..If they are really good.. It is ok to pay $5.. first check out their link backs..

You can find a site to get PR3 link for free..

Thanks

If a directory charges you an annual fee, is it not selling listings? Why does a general directory need incoming links?
