This strange Alexa..

The both Webalizer and Google analytics show some increase my site's traffic for last three months. Despite it the Alexa ranking drops dramatically from 1.100.000 to 2.200.000 .What is the cause?

Maybe because alexa is unreliable do not trust it. It really is a not very accurate although strange yes. I would presume that maybe less people are using the alexa toolbar so that is having a negative impact on your alexa ranking. Any ways alexa can be manipulated very easily so just trust your web statistics.

My website Fortunehotels.in isn't having good position in Alexa. I have downloaded alexa toolbar & placed alexa widgets on the website but no improvement there. I heared that alexa widget, redirections are myth. Is that true? I need your feedbacks.

The only myth I know about Alexa is that its ratings are accurate!!! Total waste of time imho.

it could be that some people who were visiting your site and using alexa toolbar, no longer use it or no longer visit

I find that alexa has some very whacked out rankings also. but a drop of 1 million is quite significant.

For the last two month or even longer my web stats have been improving, while Alexa stats are dropping. It was about the time that I believe they moved their data center, if I am correct. I have been trying to make changes in my account, but they never get updated as well.
I did much research and saw how easy it is to fake Alexa stats and decided that you can't trust it. I also removed the Alexa widget from my directory web sites. People put to much trust into Alexa and PR and I for one, am kicking the habit.

Alexa is not a reliable measure at low traffic levels. When my site had no real traffic other than webmasters who were reviewing my sites (and presumably had alexa tool bar installed) then my rank was high, when I started getting real traffic, but stopped the reviews, than my rankings really dropped...

It's not a reliable measure of ANY traffic whether it high or low.
